Madonna links with 'CSI' for sweeps

NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Madonna is following the marketing path forged by U2 last year and previewing tracks from her new album during U.S. TV's sweeps month.

Tracks from "Confessions on a Dancefloor" will be heard during TV's No. 1 franchise, "CSI" and "CSI: Miami" during crossover episodes Nov. 7 and Nov. 9, CBS announced Monday.

Viacom, owner of CBS as well as MTV and VH1, has become a Madonna promotional machine with her face and music frequently popping up across its dial, E! Online noted Monday.

She did "The Late Show with David Letterman" last week and has a landmark deal to exclusively promote "Confessions" on MTV Networks. She recently put in a surprise appearance at New York's Hunter College as part of mtvU's lecture series and debuted "Hung Up" on MTV's "Total Request Live."

She's performing during next month's MTV Europe Music Awards in Lisbon, Portugal and MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOonline will have exclusive previews of the full album starting Nov. 8, a week before its scheduled release.
