Stevie Wonder says all we need is love

DETROIT, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Stevie Wonder has a simple message on his first new album in 10 years -- all we need is love.

"I do feel that there's a need to have some love out there," Wonder says of "A Time to Love," his first set of fresh songs since 1995's "Conversation Peace."

"We're not living in a one-dimensional society. You can't just talk about, you know, the horrible things in life and the destruction," Wonder said.

"A Time to Love" features guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Prince, Bonnie Raitt, Doug E. Fresh, Busta Rhymes, and India.Arie. Wonder's daughter Aisha Morris, who was the inspiration for his 1976 hit "Isn't She Lovely," duets with him on two songs.

The album arrives in stores October 18, though it was released online September 30 in order to be eligible for this year's Grammy Awards.

Wonder is making the track "A Shelter In The Rain" available for download at his steviewonder.com web site to raise money for the Wonder Foundation For Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts.
