Rosie hopes Boy George 'gets help'

NEW YORK, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Actress/comedian Rosie O'Donnell says her friend Boy George, busted for cocaine possession in New York, needs "help."

The Culture Club frontman of the 1980s was arrested Friday when police answered a bogus burglary call -- reportedly called in by the pop star turned DJ himself.

Police saw some cocaine sitting near his computer, obtained a search warrant and reportedly found a "quantity of the drug," several reports said.

"It's very, very sad -- drugs," O'Donnell told the New York Post. "He's immensely talented. He's a beautiful man. I hope he gets help."

O'Donnell spent $10 million on a 2003 Broadway show based on the life of Boy George.

She said it has been a while since she has actually spoken to her friend.

"We e-mail back and forth but it's hard to be regular with him," she said.
