NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- An attorney for "Blade" star Wesley Snipes says DNA tests have proven the actor is not the father of an Indiana woman's child.
An arrest warrant had been issued in New York for the married Snipes, who previously refused to submit to DNA testing "on principle," the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
Snipes called the Indiana woman "mentally ill crack addict" who has made similar accusations against other celebrities, the newspaper said. He said he never even met her and she decided to go after him after she saw "Blade."
New York's Family Court became involved in the case at the request of Indiana authorities, the Daily News said.
But now that it has been proven Snipes is not related to the 4-year-old child, the warrant against him is expected to be withdrawn.
Snipes has filed a federal civil rights suit against the Indiana Child Support Enforcement agency, which is pending in New York.
