LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- "Transporter 2" star Jason Statham will star as a dying hit man in "Crank," a new film from Lions Gate and Lakeshore Entertainment.
"Crank" is set to begin principal photography in Los Angeles next month, the Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

Statham will play a hit man who goes on a rampage after being poisoned and must seek vengeance while trying to save himself and his girlfriend, the Reporter said.
Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor wrote the original screenplay and will direct.
