LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Nicolas Cage, Leelee Sobieski and Ellen Burstyn are starring in an independent remake of the 1973 British horror film "Wicker Man."
Cage will play a police officer looking for a girl who disappeared in a small cultlike community, the Hollywood Reporter said Friday. Sobieski plays Cage's barmaid friend and Burstyn will portray the head of the cult.
The film is shooting in Vancouver.
Sobieski has several films in the hopper including "Dungeon Siege," "Heavens Fall," "Dark Places" and "The Optimist." Burston, a six-time Oscar nominee and winner for "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore," will appear in the sci-fi thriller "The Fountain." Cage is starring in Oliver Stone's project about the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
