Star Trek's Stewart has heart scare

MANCHESTER, England, May 31 (UPI) -- "Star Trek" hero Patrick Stewart returned to work after being taken to a British hospital complaining of chest pains while filming a television show.

Stewart, 64, played Captain Jean-Luc Picard in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and was on the set of a new Granada TV sci-fi miniseries Sunday when his chest began hurting, The Sun reported.

Doctors at the Manchester Royal Infirmary performed an electrocardiogram, told Stewart he was not having a heart attack and he returned to the set after three hours.

"Patrick has been working very hard in recent weeks, because the filming schedule is really tight," a source told Ireland Online. "The director suggested he go for a check-up just in case."
