BANDA ACEH, Indonesia, April 18 (UPI) -- Jackie Chan and other celebrities toured the devastated Banda Aceh region of Indonesia Monday to see how some of the money they raised was put to use.
Chan, athlete Daley Thompson, Miss World Julia Garcia Mantilla, and Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang, who were part of an effort to raise $4.5 million in aid, visited a UNICEF center where they watched a show performed by children, the BBC reported Monday.
The tour, organized by satellite broadcaster Phoenix, also included a visit to a school in a district hard by the Dec. 26 tsunami and a stop at a settlement built to re-house hundreds who lost their homes.
The celebrities were also scheduled to meet with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the governor of Aceh, the province hardest hit by the disaster.
