Julia Louis-Dreyfus in CBS comedy pilot

LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- "Seinfeld" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus has signed to star in a comedy pilot called "Old Christine" for CBS, Daily Variety said Friday.

The paper said Louis-Dreyfus -- who starred in the short-lived NBC comedy "Watching Ellie" -- would play a divorcee looking for a better life for herself and her 9-year-old son.

Also, "Angel" star David Boreanaz has joined the cast of "Bones," a drama pilot for Fox about a forensic anthropologist.

In other pilot season casting news, Variety said Stuart Townsend ("Head in the Clouds") and Gabrielle Union ("Deliver Us from Eva"") will star in ABC's remake of the 1970s supernatural detective series "Kolchak: The Night Stalker."

And Jane Curtin ("3rd Rock From the Sun"), Fred Savage ("The Wonder Years") and William Devane ("The West Wing") have joined the cast of "Crumbs" -- a comedy pilot for ABC about a couple that divorces, forcing their grown sons to run the family business.
