Mia Farrow breaks silence on Allen breakup

NEW YORK, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Actress and New York resident Mia Farrow has spoken for the first time in eight years about her scandal-ridden break-up with ex-boyfriend Woody Allen.

Farrow told international interviewer Daphne Barak of the trauma of seeing Allen marry Soon-Yi Farrow Previn, her then-21-year-old adopted daughter, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

The actress said Allen had frightened her far before the scandal.

"His dinner had to be just so. He was very particular about what he ate and how things looked. I'll never really place a man on such a throne, on such a pedestal.

"He was not a man who wanted to share everything. He didn't want to share a bathroom, for example. Nobody could use the bathroom, so he didn't really want to share an apartment. I would have loved to share an apartment at that time.

"We built him a bathroom in this house in the country."

Farrow said she does not understand how Allen and Soon-Yi could have been allowed to adopt their own children after the scandal and subsequent custody battles.

"I don't know who allowed that and I hope they'll be okay," she said.
