MADRID, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Tom Cruise, who prefers professional soccer to acting, is spending time in Spain with soccer star David Beckham, whom the actor considers his hero.
Cruise was in the stands Sunday at a Real Madrid match with Beckham's wife, Victoria, Britain's Sun reported Tuesday.

"David and Victoria have met Tom a couple of times for dinners. They get on well. Tom's a huge soccer fan and told David he'd rather have been a famous footballer than an actor," said an unidentified friend of the Beckhams.
"He told them he played for his college team and dreamed of making it as a professional," the source said, adding Cruise told Becks, "You are my hero."
