Love chops road trip, faces legal woes

LOS ANGELES, June 17 (UPI) -- Controversial singer Courtney Love has postponed her 21-day road trip to publicize her solo debut "America's Sweetheart."

The 21-day road show was to have begun Friday in Providence, R.I., and wrap July 23 in Los Angeles, aimed at helping "Sweetheart's" flagging sales. But, advisers recommended setting her legal affairs in order first, E!Online said. Members of her team say the road trip will be rescheduled.

Love faces legal woes ranging from drugs to assault. She surrendered to Los Angeles police last Friday on a felony assault with a deadly weapon charge for allegedly striking a woman with a metal flashlight and glass bottle.

On June 28, she's due in a New York court for allegedly clobbering a fan with a microphone stand at a nightclub. She also faces felony drug charges in New York and a misdemeanor charge in Los Angeles for breaking the windows of a friend's house while under the influence of cocaine.
