Rap singer's tour bus suspect in drug ring

NEW YORK, April 13 (UPI) -- Cocaine and stashes of cash have been found on hip-hop diva Gloria Velez's tour bus, in what officials said is the vehicle for a large drug operation.

Investigators discovered the cache Monday stored beneath the rapper's bus bed as part of a two-year investigation into a suspected $50 million bicoastal drug ring, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Velez has not been charged, but Westchester Country, N.Y., authorities arrested four men after seizing 200 pounds of cocaine, $800,000 in cash and four other vehicles, prosecutors said.

The four men are suspected of running a $50 million a year network that moved drugs from the West Coast to New York; Washington, D.C.; Virginia; Maryland; and North Carolina, said Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

The amount of money or drugs on Velez's bus has not been disclosed, but the New York Post reported the space under the bed alone could hold more than 100 kilos of cocaine carrying a street value of well over $10 million.

Velez, 24, has appeared in videos with rap heavyweights Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule.
