NBC president gives peak at 2004 schedule

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- NBC's president provided a peak into the network's 2004 schedule, including "Friends" and "Frasier" finale dates, at a Los Angeles media tour.

Jeff Zucker told reporters that a two-hour finale of "Friends" will air May 6 at 9 p.m. E.T., with the first hour as a retrospective and the second, the finale, Daily Variety reported Thursday.

Following the show, the "Friends" cast will appear on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Also, in "Friends" news, a special Valentine's Day episode on Feb. 12 will feature Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) getting married.

The "Frasier" finale on May 13 will follow the same two-hour format, Zucker said at the TV Critics Association's L.A. media tour.

NBC will broadcast the first major network airing of "Shrek" on Feb. 15, including never-before-seen footage.

Zucker also announced that NBC will debut its fall season line-up at least two to three weeks earlier than normal, rolling out the new shows immediately following NBC's coverage of the Olympics, which ends Aug. 29.

There could be no greater lead-in for the fall lineup than the heavily watched Olympics, Zucker said.
