A&E plans movies, reality series

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. cable network A&E has committed to a second season of the BBC-produced scripted action series "MI-5," five movies and four reality series.

"The Other Man," a one-hour program, deals with Michael Bergin, the Calvin Klein model who had a long-term relationship with Carolyn Bessette before and during her marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr., Daily Variety reported.

The special features an exclusive interview with Bergin by Judith Regan, whose ReganBooks imprint of HarperCollins will publish Bergin's tell-all book the week of the A&E special in March.

Original movies in development for 2004-05 include: "Brooke Ellison," the story of a quadriplegic woman who graduated from Harvard, delivering the commencement speech; and "Riverman," about the Green River killer who murdered more than 40 people in the state of Washington, and the profiler who helped track him down.

Reality series include "Dearly Departed," about the inner workings of a San Diego funeral home; "The First 48," which follows homicide detectives as they solve their cases; and "Dog, the Bounty Hunter," about real-life bounty hunter Dwayne "Dog" Chapman.
