Courtney Love treated for drug overdose

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Authorities say rock star Courtney Love was hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose after her arrest for breaking four windows at a friend's home.

Police responded to an early morning burglary call Thursday and found Love, 39, standing outside a Wilshire-area home, the Los Angeles Times said.

She was booked for being under the influence of a controlled substance and released after admitting she broke the windows in an attempt to get in, Police Lt. Art Miller said. The widow of rock star Kurt Cobain, she was released after $2,500 bail was posted.

Less than an hour later, she was rushed to a hospsital for treatment by Beverly Hills police and paramedics who had responded to a call for help at a private residence.

Love is the founder of the influential band Hole and was a Golden Globe nominee for her role in the movie, "The People vs. Larry Flynt.".
