Voodoo Fest set for Halloween

NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- 50 Cent and Marilyn Manson will top the bill at the fifth annual Voodoo Festival in New Orleans Halloween weekend.

Also headlining the Oct. 31-Nov. 2 event that will feature 80 artists are Gov't Mule, Galactic, Robert Randolph, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Cowboy Mouth, Godsmack, Queens of the Stone Age, Staind, Cypress Hill, The Roots and Mos Def.

"Last year's event deemed us as a Halloween tradition, this year's event will solidify us as a 3-day world class music experience not to miss," said Steve Rehage, President Rehage Entertainment, Inc. "Our weekend line-up showcases some of the best talent in today's industry and allows us to pepper the weekend with some of music's rising stars."

Launched in 1999, Voodoo Fest has drawn more than 250,000 attendees to see performers such as Eminem, Tool, Snoop Dogg, Stone Temple Pilots, Missy Elliot, Black Crowes, No Doubt, 311, Garbage, Ben Harper, John Mayer, Counting Crows and Macy Gray. The 2003 Voodoo talent line-up demonstrates the festival's commitment to musical diversity, Rehage said.

Other acts scheduled include P.O.D., Paul Oakenfold, Rabbit In the Moon, Ludacris, A Perfect Circle, The Donnas, Felix da HouseCat, String Cheese Incident, Fuel, Howie Day, Rusted Root, Better Than Ezra, Supagroup, Subdudes, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill (DJ), Z-Trip, Disco Biscuits, Mindless Self Indulgence, Kill Hannah, Sandra Collins, Smile, Empty Soul, Blackalicious, Supersuckers, Revis, RJD2 (DJ) and Mark Broussard.
