TNK-BP to deliver Siberian oil

MOSCOW, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The British-Russian oil firm TNK-BP said it plans to deliver supplies from the Siberian Verkhnechonsk oil field through a major pipeline network in October.

Viktor Vekselberg, vice president of TNK-BP, said the first stage of the Verkhnechonsk project will connect to the East Siberian Pacific Ocean pipeline this month, the Russian daily Kommersant reported.

Data available from TNK-BP show the proven recoverable reserves at the Verkhnechonsk field top 1.5 billion barrels of oil and 3.3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

The TNK-BP consortium experienced a shakeup during the summer as Russian shareholders pressured former Chairman Robert Dudley from office, leading to a widespread exodus of foreign management from the firm.

The company Friday said it had reached agreements with its shareholders to resolve any remaining disputes.

"The shareholders informed the company's management of the agreements reached regarding TNK-BP's further development," TNK-BP said in a statement.
