HOUSTON, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Plains All American Pipeline announced a $190 million project would expand its oil pipeline network and finance a facility for natural gas in Texas.
Plains said it was expanding its Gardendale Gathering system in southern Texas, which includes 90 miles of new pipeline designed to carry 115,000 barrels of oil per day.
"These lines will connect at Gardendale to long-haul pipelines, enabling shippers to deliver to Three Rivers, Corpus Christi or Houston area refiners," the company said in a statement.
"The new expansion pipelines are underpinned by producer agreements and are expected to be placed into service between the fall of 2012 and second-quarter 2013."
A facility tied to the Eagle Ford shale deposit in Texas would extract natural gas liquids from condensate. The first phase is expected to go into service by October.
A separate 40-mile pipeline from Alabama is expected to go into service by 2013 to feed gulf coast refiners.
The company owns about 18,000 miles of liquids pipeline in the United States.
