Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Britain's Princess Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's youngest child, posed for photos outside of Kensington Palace before her first day of nursery school.
Kensington Palace shared two photos of Charlotte dressed in a red coat as well as a pink scarf and backpack on Monday afternoon.
The photos were taken by Duchess Kate Middleton before the princess left for Willcocks Nursery School.
The school is about half a mile away from Kensington Palace and is rated "outstanding" by Britain's Office for Standards in Education "exceptional" organization of time and its staff's meticulous planning.
Willocks has an all-female staff and some parents register their children before birth to ensure they can attend.
Charlotte's older brother Prince George is also expected to return for his second term at school at Thomas' Battersea this week.
Middleton is expected to give birth to the royal family's third child in April.
