Bowen played in a career-high 69 games last season for the Philadelphia 76ers and Heat, averaging 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds. The defensive specialist contributed 5.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 27 contests for Miami.

The 6-7 Bowen became the first player in Miami history to have two separate stints with the team. He began hiscareer with the Heat during the 1996-97 season, when he was signed to a 10-day contract on March 15. Bowen played in only one game before spending the rest of the season on the injured list with patella tendinitis in his right knee.

Bowen spent two years with the Boston Celtics before signing with the 76ers as a free agent prior to the start of last season. He played in 42 games for the Sixers before being dealt to the Bulls on Feb. 16 in the deal that brought Toni Kukoc to Philadelphia.

Two days later, he was released by the Bulls and claimed by the Heat.
