LOS ANGELES, July 24 -- Bruce Willis and Demi Moore have filed a lawsuit against the tabloid The Star, its publishers and the writers of what the celebrity couple calls 'false, fabricated and defamatory articles.' Willis and Moore contend stories that claimed their marriage was on the rocks were fabricated and libelous, and that other untrue and defamatory statements were made about their marriage in The Star.
In addition, a spokesman says Willis and Moore have initiated a lawsuit in Australia against New Idea Magazine concerning similar allegations related to their marriage. The two are seeking more than $5 million damages, though Willis said in a statement 'We are not filing this lawsuit for financial gain but to protect our reputation.' ---
