TLC, Jackson lead Soul Train nominees

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 -- R&B trio TLC, riding the success of their multiplatinum 'CrazySexyCool' album, led the field Thursday with four nominations for the 10th annual Soul Train Music Awards. Michael Jackson, Monica and D'Angelo each captured three nominations for the awards, to be presented March 29 in Los Angeles in a live syndicated television broadcast. Awards will be presented in 12 categories. In addition, Patti LaBelle will receive the Soul Train Heritage Award for career achievement, and Boyz II Men will be given the Sammy Davis Jr. Entertainer of the Year Award. The nominees: R&B/soul single, female: 'I'm Goin' Down,' Mary J. Blige; 'Brokenhearted,' Brandy; 'Exhale (Shoop Shoop),' Whitney Houston; 'Like This And Like That/Before You Walk Out Of My Life,' Monica. Blige; 'Daydream,' Mariah Carey; 'Faith,' Faith Evans; 'Miss Thang,' Monica.
