Speed' leads MTV Movie Awards noms

LOS ANGELES, April 12 -- Keanu Reeves' bus-bomb thriller 'Speed' was a monster hit last year with MTV viewers, who showered the film Wednesday with seven nominations for the fourth annual MTV Movie Awards. 'Pulp Fiction,' 'True Lies' and 'Interview With the Vampire' also won multiple nods for the awards, to be televised June 15 on cable TV's 24-hour music video channel. The nominations in 13 categories were derived from a nationwide poll of 1,200 MTV viewers. Next Tuesday the channel will broadcast its 'MTV Movie Awards Nomination Special,' when it will ask viewers to cast their votes for the winners by calling a special 900 telephone number. The $1.25 fee for each call will be donated to LIFEbeat, a music industry AIDS charity. Viewers also will be able to cast votes by sending an E-mail message to the MTV mailbox on the America Online computer network. Additionally, mail-in ballots will be published in the May 5 edition of Entertainment Weekly magazine. ------
