Michael Jackson released from hospital following oral surgery

MEXICO CITY -- Pop star Michael Jackson left a Mexico City hospital Friday after surgeons pulled an abscessed molar in an operation that caused the postponement of two concerts.

Jackson drew an audience of 100,000 at a performance in Mexico City's Aztec Stadium on Oct. 29.

He appeared in a second show on Oct. 31, but postponed a third engagement Tuesday after undergoing dentalwork Monday.

Additional surgical intervention to remove a molar Thursday forced the postponement until next week of appearances scheduled for Thursday and Saturday.

The singer left the hospital Friday morning, Mexico's government news agency Notimex said, and had a pinata party with children at the Hard Rock Cafe discoteque several hours later.

Jackson, who is on his world 'Dangerous' tour, has rescheduled the postponed Mexico City concerts to Nov. 7, 9, and 11.

Pop star Madonna, who is on her world 'Girlie Show' tour, is scheduled to perform in Mexico City on Nov. 10, 12 and 13.
