Police release composite of killer

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles police have released a composite drawing of a possible serial killer who may be preying on black men in South Los Angeles.

Three men were shot to death and another was seriously wounded in a series ofattacks that date back to January and occurred within a three- block radius.

The most recent shooting was May 22 and the 38-year-old victim survived.

Police said they were withholding the victim's name for his own safety.

Police believe the first victim was Howard L. Campbell, 32. He was fatally shot Jan. 31. Michael Kevin Meador, 35, was killed Feb. 14 and Joseph Alexander Maxwell, 26, was shot to death April 15.

The only surviving victim was able to provide a description of his attacker, and police said the suspect, his vehicle and the gun he used all fit the same general description.

The suspect is described as a white man with red hair, between 25 to 35, who drives a Jeep, possibly red with a white top.
