Actress Shepherd files for divorce

LOS ANGELES -- 'Moonlighting' star Cybill Shepherd filed for divorce Wednesday from her husband Bruce Oppenheim, citing irreconcilable differences, her publicist said.

Shepherd and Oppenheim, a Beverly Hills chiropractor, were married March 1, 1987, and have 1-year-old twins.

Shepherd, 38, cited 'irreconcilable differences' in her filing in Los Angeles, said Cheryl Kagan, the actress's publicist.

The couple announced they had separated Jan. 31. The marriage was the second for both.

In addition to starring with Bruce Willis in the Emmy-winning 'Moonlighting' television series, Shepherd will appear in 'Chances Are,' a romantic comedy to be released March 10 that also stars Ryan O'Neal and Robert Downey Jr.

Before her 'Moonlighting' role as model-turned-detective, Shepherd starred in about a dozen movies, several directed by her long-time companion, Peter Bogdanovich.

Among her films are 'The Last Picture Show,' 'The Heartbreak Kid,' 'Daisy Miller' and 'Taxi Driver.'
