BRODERICK FINED

By WILLIAM C. TROTT, United Press International

A court in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, fined actor Matthew Broderick $175 for causing the August 1987 car wreck that killed two women.

The star of 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' was not in court when the fine was issued Monday but his lawyer entered a plea of guilty to a charge of careless driving. Broderick had apparently had forgotten that cars drive on the left side of the road in Northern Ireland when his BMW crashed into the women's Volvo. He suffered a broken leg and his girlfriend, 'Dirty Dancing' star Jennifer Grey, the daughter of Joel Grey, had to be treated for shock.
