TALES OF UFOS

By MARK SCHWED, United Press International

One hot August nite 11 years ago, Lydia Stalnaker was ushered aboard a flying saucer, examined by frail, big-headed aliens with glowing red eyes and then given powers beyond all earthly science. Or so she says.

About 70 wide-eyed Miamians paid $10 each to hear the woman's extra-terrestrial tales Thursday night. 'I am one of the five most documented UFO abduction cases in the United States,' she told the crowd, adding she had been selected to receive the 'seven powers of God,' which she now sells. 'It's really humiliating being made fun of by the public,' Stalnaker said, but apparently it's also very lucrative. She sells her healing powers for $30, T-shirts for $7 and 'Contact' buttons for $1. UFOlogists say her claims amount to nothing more than tall tales.
