NEW YORK -- The Miss America Pageant telecast live from Atlantic City, N.J., gave NBC the No. 1 show in the weekly Nielsen ratings announced today, posting a score of 23.3 and a solid audience share of 45.
However, the Pageant was the only NBC show to make the top 10 for Sept. 6-12 and the network again was third in overall ratings.
The score for the week: CBS 15.3 and 27; ABC, 14.2 and 25; and NBC, 13.0 and 23.0.
CBS had six shows in the top 10, two of them the halves of the TV movie 'Scruples', while ABC had three. All of the top 10 except the Miss America show were re-runs or movies.
The top 10 programs for the week ending Sept. 12, according to the A. C. Nielsen Co., were:
