HOLLYWOOD -- The producer of the movie 'Mommie Dearest' has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Paramount Pictures Corp., claiming an advertisement for the film is embarrassing.

Producer Frank Yablans, who also said he had not authorized the advertisement, filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week.

The ad for the movie about the late star Joan Crawford reads:

'No wire hangers ... ever. Fay Dunaway in 'Mommie Dearest' ... the biggest mother of them all.'

Yablan said the ad embarrassed him 'not only with the motion picture industry, but the public at large.' Besides compensatory and punitive damages, the suit seeks to halt use of the advertisement.
