MIAMI -- President Eli Timoner will assume the additional post of chairman of Air Florida, replacing Edward Acker, who is resigning to become chairman of Pan American World Airways Sept. 1.

The 52-year-old Timoner has been with Air Florida since its founding in 1972.

The company, originally a small intrastate airline, now has routes to the Northeastern, Southwestern and Midwestern states and to Latin American European countries.
