His 52-point performance, a career high, helped the Pacers to a 119-113 victory that ended San Antonio's 11-game winning streak at home.

'Knight was virtually unstoppable,' said San Antonio coach Stan Albeck. 'Not only can he post up, but he can put the ball on the floor.'

For the week, he averaged 32.8 points a game, hitting 61 percent from the field and 88 percent from the line.

Others receiving consideration for the award were Philadelphia's Bobby Jones, New York's Ray Williams and Seattle's Vinnie Johnson.
