MENGO, UGANDA PROTECTORATE, BRITISH AFRICA, June 30, 1909 (UP) - I arrived at Uganda Tuesday in advance of the Roosevelt hunting party. Wednesday I had an interview with Daudi Chwa Kampala, the boy king of Uganda. The youth is the nominal ruler of the country under the British protectorate. When he heard that I was in advance of the party headed by Roosevelt, he sent special messengers to me and urged me to visit him and have an audience in state.
