Florida 3, Buffalo 0

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Roberto Luongo made 30 saves for his second shutout of the season and Jaroslav Bednar and Ryan Johnson scored first-period goals Friday night as the Florida Panthers continued their success away from home with a 3-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Coming off a disappointing 0-2-2 homestand, the Panthers once again found played well on the road, relying on Luongo to shut down the Sabres.

Luongo stopped 11 shots in the first period, eight in the second and made 11 saves in the third en route to his 12th career shutout.

Sparked by Luongo, the Panthers picked up at least one point in their 10th straight road game, improving to 4


3-3 during that stretch.

After Bednar and Johnson scored in the opening 20 minutes, Viktor Kozlov tallied into an empty net with 14 seconds remaining in the contest.
