Buffalo 4, Anaheim 0

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Curtis Brown recorded a hat trick and Martin Biron stopped 22 shots for his first win in 12 starts Wednesday night as the struggling Buffalo Sabres skated to a 4-0 triumph over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Brown scored Buffalo's second goal with less than five minutes to go in the second period, putting in the rebound of a shot by Miroslav Satan from the right side of the net.

Just 23 seconds into the third, Brown grabbed the puck in his own zone and skated in on a breakaway, wristing a shot off the crossbar and past goaltender Martin Gerber.

With 7:13 remaining in the third period, Brown pushed a rebound past Gerber while falling to post his first career three-goal game.

Biron improved to 3


0 lifetime against Anaheim with his first shutout of the season and 12th career.

J.P. Dumont also scored for Buffalo, which improved to 9-4-3 all-time against the Mighty Ducks.

The win was the Sabres' fifth of the season and second in the last 18 contests.
