HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, March 29 (UPI) -- An Air Canada passenger jet skidded off the runway after a "hard landing" at the Halifax airport in Nova Scotia early Sunday.
Most of the 25 people from Flight 624 sent to the hospital have been released and no major injuries were reported.
Air Canada said the passenger list indicates the plane had 132 passengers and five crewmembers on board. Photos on social media show the plane with its sides mangled. Airport spokesman Peter Spurway said the aircraft, an Airbus A320, was damaged, but declined to give further details.
According to NBC News, Spurway said there was some snow and wind when the plane touched down, but that conditions were not terribly difficult for landing.

Air Canada said it would cooperate fully with authorities' investigation into what happened. The incident also knocked out power to the airport. Nova Scotia Power said electricity was restored to the airport shortly after 1 a.m.
We've restored power to @HfxStanfield. Grateful everyone is okay.
