PARIS, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Drones have been spotted over Paris landmarks and high-security buildings, including the U.S. embassy, for a second night.

At least five remote-controlled unmanned aircrafts were spotted early Wednesday over central Paris by both police and witnesses. Police said some of the new sightings were photographed, allowing authorities to review the incidents more closely. Authorities have not found the operators or determined if the flyovers are malicious.

In addition to flying over Les Invalides and Place de la Concorde early Wednesday, the drones were spotted at the Paris Metro stations Porte de Clignancour and Porte de Saint-Cloud.

Early Tuesday, drones were spotted over the U.S. embassy and landmarks that included the Eiffel tower and Place de la Bastille.

Since October, drones have been spotted above highly secured areas including the presidential palace in Paris and French nuclear power plants. Paris authorities have some 10 aviation investigators trying to determine who is operating the aircrafts. It is illegal to fly over Paris at night.
