Vice President Biden commends Ukrainian PM for commitment to stabilization

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden sat down with the newly-appointed Ukrainian Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, on Thursday at the White House, in order to discuss the crisis in Ukraine following Russia's incursion into the Crimea region.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden met Thursday with visiting Ukrainian Prime Minisiter Arseniy Yatsenyuk at the White House.

During their meeting, Biden commended "the Ukrainian government’s commitment to move forward to stabilize Ukraine and its economy," according to the White House.

As Ukraine grapples with Russia's military incursion into its Crimea region, Biden "reiterated that the United States stands firmly behind Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in ensuring Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity."

The vice president's meeting followed President Barack Obama's meeting with Prime Minister Yatsenyuk in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
