Breivik lawyer hired to help bring home Norwegian teens

OSLO, Norway, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The father of two Norwegian teenage girls who ran away to Syria to help the rebels in the country's civil war hired far-right terrorist Anders Breivik's lawyer.

Attorney Geir Lippestad has called on the Norwegian police and Foreign Ministry to assist in bringing home the sisters, whose names and ages were not reported, The Local.no reported.

The father is currently on the Turkish border with Syria searching for his daughters. He was informed by email two weeks ago that his children were going to Syria to fight with Islamist rebel groups against regime forces.

"Two young girls are missing in a dangerous area. He is alone in a dangerous area and it would help to have a contact in Turkey, either from the Norwegian police, or from UD [the Foreign Ministry]," Lippestad told Norwegian state broadcaster NRK.

"It would be incredibly sad if the Norwegian authorities did not take this matter extremely seriously, so that it can come to a good resolution," Lippestad said. "It would be very sad if we found that two young girls had been injured, or perhaps something even worse."
