KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Three Afghan police officers were allegedly shot dead by two fellow officers Tuesday in southern Kandahar province, officials said.
The two officers suspected of the shootings allegedly fled the area after the incident in Zherai district, said provincial governor spokesman Jawid Faisal.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said a police commander was killed along with the three officers, Khaama Press reported.
