Somali palace scene of suicide blast

MOGADISHU, Somalia, March 14 (UPI) -- A suicide car bombing near Somalia's presidential palace killed at least three people, including the bomber, and injured four others, witnesses said Wednesday.

Witnesses said the bomber detonated his explosive at the entrance of Villa Somalia, located in a heavily fortified zone in the country's capital city of Mogadishu, Shabelle Media Network reported.

Senior Somali government officials, including President Sharif Ahmed, Parliament Speaker Sharif Hassan and Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohammed Ali, live and have offices in the zone, officials said.
