Al-Shabaab suspected in boy's beheading

MOGADISHU, Somalia, March 8 (UPI) -- The body of boy allegedly beheaded by al-Shabaab for spying was found Thursday in northern Mogadishu, Somalia, witnesses told Shabelle Media Network.

Residents of the al-Shabaab stronghold of Gal-galato in the north of the capital said on condition of anonymity the boy was killed because he was suspected of spying against the Islamic militant organization.

Al-Shabaab, which officially merged with al-Qaida in February, has not released a statement on the killing, Shabelle said.
