TEHRAN, June 27 (UPI) -- An Iranian missile maneuver Monday will help assess the preparedness of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, a military official said.
"Measuring the degree of preparedness of IRGC's military units, exercising new tactics, [the] presence of young soldiers alongside experienced personnel of IRGC and extensive usage of advanced equipment are among other objectives of great Prophet Mohammed war games," Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh said in an Islamic Republic News Agency report Monday.
Hajizadeh said the drills both land and sea drills would be conducted.
"This maneuver is not a threat for other countries and it is conducted within the annually scheduled timetable of Iran's armed forces and for the sake of maintaining defense capabilities," Hajizadeh said.
Hajizadeh said the exercises would test all of Iran's missiles.
"We will also unveil the modern missile launching sites which are used in different parts of Iran," Hajizadeh said.
