Japanese anti-terrorism information leaked

TOKYO, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Sensitive documents on anti-terrorism operations have been leaked to the Internet, Tokyo police say.

The data, including information from a squad that specializes in crimes committed by foreigners, may have been distributed through file-swapping software, investigative sources told Kyodo News.

The breach was uncovered as the force is beefing up security before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, which includes a summit in November in Yokohama.

The department said it was tipped off by another security organization and confirmed that the documents, which include such phrases as ''the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department'' and ''Public Safety Bureau,'' were posted on several Web sites.

The department said it is investigating whether the documents are its own and how they were leaked.
