The One Fund Boston, the primary compensation fund for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, has raised more than $50 million in donations.

The fund received 212 claims by Saturday, the deadline for applications to be postmarked. Several others are en route to the office.

The $50 million will be distributed based on a protocol determined in May. It prioritizes deaths, double amputees and victims who sustained brain damage. After that, it prioritizes single amputees, followed by injuries causing an overnight hospital stay.

To apply, victims had to fill out a three-page form from the fund's website that clarifies injuries and hospital stays. It requires a hospital statement confirming the injuries were sustained as a result of the attack.

“Whatever we do with this fund is inadequate,” said fund administrator Kenneth Feinberg. “Everyone, please lower your expectations about this fund.

"If you had a billion dollars, you would not have enough money to deal with the problems with these attacks.”
