Body of second boy found after deadly waterfall plunge

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 14 (UPI) -- New York State Parks Police said Tuesday they have recovered the body of the second boy who went over the lower falls at Letchworth State Park in western New York.

A family of seven people, went over the falls around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening as they played in the river. Parks Police said it's likely one person might have slipped and the others plunged as they tried to help. Five people -- two adults and three children -- were rescued and treated for minor injuries, but two boys were missing.

The body of Preston Giangregorio, 6, was found Sunday. The body of his brother, Dylan Giangregorio, 9, was found by underwater recovery teams Tuesday.

The lower falls are approximately 60-feet high and feed into the Genesee River. The area around the lower falls remain closed.

Police urge anyone who might have been a witness to the accident to call the Letchworth State Police station at (585) 658-4692.
