WASHINGTON, May 18 (UPI) -- Infant bicycle helmets sold at Target by Pacific Cycle were recalled for potential chin strap problems, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Wednesday.

The helmets, with the word "Schwinn" on the fronts, are designed to fit bicycle passengers aged 1 to 3 years. A magnetic chin strap buckle could come loose, the commission said, posing a choking hazard to wearers if a magnet or a plastic magnet cover was ingested.

No injuries have been reported; Pacific Cycle has received three reports of a loosened plastic cover.

A commission statement advised that helmet owners should immediately discard the helmets, and contact Pacific Cycle at 1-877-564-2261, or at [email protected]. They may also go online at www.schwinnbikes.com and click "Support," then "Safety & Recalls," or to www.target.com and click "Product Recall" for more information on receiving a replacement helmet.
