MARION, Ind., May 2 (UPI) -- At a Ted Cruz rally in Indiana, vice presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina fell off the stage after introducing her running mate.

Video of the incident suggests Texas Sen. Cruz himself did not notice the fall, but his wife, Heidi, quickly came to Fiorina's aid. The fall happened just after Fiorina on Sunday introduced Cruz, accompanied by his wife and children, as "the next first family."

As The Washington Post pointed out, Fiorina isn't the first politico to miss a step and take a fall in front of TV cameras. The faulty equilibrium of former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others have all been caught on film.

Cruz has spent the past two days campaigning in Indiana ahead of Tuesday's primary. On Monday, he decided to engage with a small group of Donald Trump supporters who had gathered to protest Cruz's appearance at a local restaurant.

Cruz was heckled with chants of "Lyin' Ted" while conversing with a couple of the protestors. {link: According to The New York Times: "http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/05/02/ted-cruz-confronts-donald-trump-supporters-in-indiana/" target="_blank"}, Cruz told reporters his belief "in the democratic process" compelled him to confront the group.

Cruz told the hecklers that his rival Trump -- and their preferred candidate -- would not have come across to speak to the protestors had their roles been reversed.

The same day, Trump said he would have helped up Fiorina after her fall had his role been reversed with Cruz.
