INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Jared Fogle, the former marquee television pitchman for Subway restaurants, on Tuesday formally notified the U.S. Court of Appeals that he will contest his prison sentence -- set at 15 years following his guilty plea on possession of child pornography and traveling the nation for the purpose of having sex with minors.
As part of his plea agreement, Fogle is barred from appealing his conviction but is allowed to protest any prison sentence longer than 12 years and seven months. Fogle received a term of 15 years and eight months.
